Sugarland Studios is a community-centered ceramics studio offering pottery wheel classes, handbuilding workshops, open studio time, and private events. Whether you’re touching clay for the first time or refining your skills, our studio is a relaxed, inspiring space to slow down, get your hands muddy (in the best way), and create something meaningful.
Located on a working farm in Maryland’s Agricultural Reserve, Sugarland Studios blends art, nature, and connection—making every visit feel like a creative retreat.
We offer a rotating schedule of pottery classes and workshops designed for all experience levels:
- Wheel Throwing Classes – Learn centering, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, and glazing
- Handbuilding Workshops – Create mugs, vases, bowls, and sculptural forms using slab, coil, and pinch techniques
- Sip & Clay Nights – A fun, social evening of pottery making with friends or couples
- Seasonal & Specialty Workshops – Raku firing, themed builds, and creative intensives
All materials, tools, glazes, and firings are included—just show up ready to create.
